The railroad transport had several famous trains during its long history, but none received more attention and popularity than the Orient Express. Alongside the high-end service and comfort it offered the real reason for its fame lies in the famous detective novel Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie. This painting depicts the Orient Express which carried for years the wealthy and renowned passengers between Paris and Istanbul (then known as Constantinople).
